Corduroy is a curious bear seeking his missing button. He goes through the mall trying to find one. He causes a ruckus and is taking back to where he belongs. Only, he belongs to the little girl who has a home and friendship waiting for him. I would use this book possibly as a counting activity with buttons or maybe create adventures for Corduroy and see if the author came up with any of the same stories.

This book is for older grades. It is a roller-coaster of emotions as we go through Bud's journey with him. We find how hard Bud's life is and how he overcomes it. Character analysis and context clues would be great to express and teach with this book. Vocabulary is also very rich.

Harold goes on an exciting adventure with the scribble of his purple crayon. Walking in the moonlight, sailing on the ocean, to a hot air balloon ride. This book is great for imagination. I would use this as an art project. Have the students write then draw their own adventure with a purple crayon.

This is a sweet interactive book about the ABCs. It is a fun way to learn the ABCs and also be involved in reading the book. One teacher has done this book as a program for parents to come watch. That would be very cute!

The poor little bird did not fit in wherever it went. The little bird goes through various emotions and obstacles but overcomes. This book would be great to teach diversity and being friends with each other. Also, we can relate to the emotions the duckling felt. 1st grade really talks about emotion.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar shows the cycle of a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly. We experience all the food he eats and changes with him. this can be used for counting and the lifecycle of a butterfly.

Pete the Cat and his school shoes! Rockin' into the first day of school! I would use this book as a first day get to know you book. I would have each student cut out, color, and write on a shoe telling me 5 things he/she likes.

This book was used to teach me how to read. It is a simple book with repeated phrases to help with word recognition and fluency as well. I would possibly use this book if I had struggling readers 1st grade and up and for Kindergarten, I may use it for guided reading towards the end of the year.

Charlotte's Web is a great tale of a pig and spider who has a remarkable friendship. I would do and activity on vocabulary is a spider web and connect them. In my elementary school experience, we were able to take a field trip to a farm and get to see the animals and learn about farm life. I would love to do tat with my future classroom if possible.

I LOVE this book! This book teaches diversity and having friends of all kinds. This book can be used for character education, if there isn't harmony in the classroom, and just a reminder book that everyone can be friends. it also rhymes!

Holes has been on the summer reading list or the reading list of many classrooms. It is a great story about how two families are connected from way back in the past. This book would be great for active reading and making notes and connections throughout the book. It has great vocabulary too. In a sense, it also gives a glimpse of society back in the flashback part of it too.

Pete the Cat never ceases to amaze me! In this book, Pete integrates math into literacy and also creates a scenario relatable to the class. "Does Pete cry? Goodness no!"

This is such a sweet story about a baby bunny in a fun competition on who loves who more. Valentine's day would be a great time to use this in the classroom. Of course as a bedtime story one day too.
Activity: I would have the students cut out a picture of the baby bunny and have them write a couple of sentences on how much they love someone at home. (parents or guardians)

This book I read as a child and it is an engaging book with a surprise at the end!
I love this book because it keeps the reader in full attention mode. The anxious monster keeps telling the reader don't turn another page. Of course, we do it anyway.
I would use this maybe as a first day of Kindergarten to get out the anxious jitters out, or kindergarten Halloween.
